Jordana studeerde in 2020 af als basisschoolleerkracht. En volgde tijdens haar studie al meerdere cursussen pottenbakken. En zoals vele waarschuwen, als je er eenmaal aan begint... kom je er nooit meer vanaf.

Jordana werkt nu niet meer in het basisonderwijs, maar combineert haar achtergrond als docent met pottenbakken in haar eigen pottenbakschool. Daarnaast maakt Jordana haar eigen werk dat zowel online als in winkels wordt verkocht.

 ``Ik haal veel voldoening uit zowel het doceren als het bedenken van vormen en deze tot leven brengen op de draaischijf.´´

Lillian is beeldende kunstenaar. Ze werkt als vakdocent en als kunstenaar, ze gebruikt allerlei materialen om haar beelden te maken. Op de kunstacademie mocht ze een keer achter de draaischijf zitten. Ze had vaker met klei geboetseerd, maar draaien was een totaal ander ervaring met het materiaal.  Het was onvergetelijk. Na het afstuderen heeft ze haar eigen schijf gekocht en leerde pottenbakken, dat is nu 6 jaar geleden. Voor haar is pottenbakken een rustgevend proces die je ook levenslessen kan bieden.  

Lillian combineert graag draai en handvorm technieken om haar keramische werken te maken.

Ari has been tinkering with pottery for around 12 years. She is originally from a small town in rural New Hampshire where she took her first ceramics and sculpture course as a high school student and spent a summer during college apprenticing with a local potter. Since then, Ari has been hooked on the craft and has always sought out pottery studios in the various places she has lived– from across the United States to here in the Netherlands.

In her work, Ari likes to treat the clay like a blank canvas, experimenting with different textures and patterns to create unique designs. When she’s not nose deep in her own projects, she is usually busy teaching beginner wheelthrowing workshops.

What Ari loves most about pottery is its ability to bring people together and form a community based on a mutual love for the craft and an eagerness to share knowledge and techniques.
